I think you get what you pay for in tires. Pay for the name brand, they will be tougher, better made which will lead to longer tread life. BFG's wear like IRON
 
I have never gotten less than 60,000 miles out of a set of BFG's. The BFG MT's are surprisingly quiet on pavement, too. As was said, get the bigger tire, if you don't, you will end up wishing you did. I wish BFG made a 37x14.5 Mud Terrain for a 15" rim.

Some off brands ARE made by top names . I had the Sport Kings for almost 3 years and had awesome treadwear and they just plain worked in AZ for wheeling . I gave 540 out the door at East Valley Tire .

That is a hard warranty to beat. Hell my truck has the 35" Wildcat EXT Mudders that were on on it when I bought them. First set of large tires I've had that werent Interco or BFG, and they have been pretty good so far, but they are wearing a little faster than the name brands. I did have on set of AM Genral All Terrains for a while that performed well on my stock truck and wore well for 30,000 miles before I sold it.
 
The dakota MTs do NOT come with 50k, they come with 40k treadwear.. the dakota all terrains have 50k.
Also, the dakotas from pep boys are made by Cooper Tire.
I checked into em.. I was told by a friend who works at pepboys 517 out the door on 35x12.50x15s...but i think thats BS. As i said i dont think any of my local pepboys carry over 33s.
 
well.. what kinda mud will you be doing? if its wet mud with water ontop, that will REALLY help clean the A/Ts while your spinning them. If its dryer cakey mud...kiss those A/Ts goodbye because you now have drag slicks.

Does this truck see alot of pavement? If it is your only daily driver, stay with all terrains =)

Also my friend had the dakota M/T and he loves em, sweet on the road, quiet (so he says anyway).. He only had them for 400 or so miles because his engine blewup (mazda/ford)
 
Its really light mud with water on top, not deep murky mud. Alot of it is wet sand with water on top. So AT's are the way to go?
 
I think I will do the 33x12.5, she told me they are measured at 12.5 but with the tread are close to 13.5 wide.

for 570 OTD, thats a really good price!!
 
I think were getting the Dakota A/Ts as well...other tires just too damn expensive!! 285/75/16 Dueler A/T Revos will cost us 1000 bucks average!
The pep boys dakota a/ts are 560, out the door.

I called back and got a quote for the AT's, cause they quoted MT's last night, and they said 606 OTD...hmm its kinda odd. . .

So the MT's suck for arizona then? Cause I read reviews for the bfg mt's and they seemed to work really well in AZ.
 
They dont suck they do better than A/Ts in ANY mud...im not argueing that

Im just saying if your running softpack sand and alot of road, A/T will be your best friend.
A/Ts also like rocks, too..unless they are caked with mud
 
So loose dirt and such, AT's are better? I might go with them then, I actually found some nice AT's from BFG on craiglist, I am calling the guy right now.

Consider this: You might want to think about getting a fifth tire as a matching spare which will bump up the price again. Or find a good used matching one. Here is a pick of my blazer with 33" bfg's and there is plenty of room for 35's I'm getting. I don't do a whole lot of hardcore wheeling, mostly fire trails and adventure wheeling.

Well, loose dirt..that can mean anything depending on where your from..
Sand that moves under your feet... If you go on that, if you spin M/Ts they dig and burry fast, a/ts are better for that and desert. Dunno what conditions AZ has
 
And for a 5th tire... If you buy it new with the other 4, rotate it into the pattern every 3-5thousand miles! Get you even wear on all 5, and last your overall set of tires a little longer.
