33" tire on spare tire carrier on 91 K5

I need to find a mount for my 1991 k5, do any of you guys know if a 33" tire on a stock rally rim will fit on the mount? I've got general tires all around and would like to put one inside also.

I hope so, I just ordered 33's all around including spare, will find out soon I guess.

I did it in my 87 K5 with BFG All-Terrian, install tire first then lock back seat down. Tight fit for sure!

I couldn't seem to get mine to fit without moving the entire mount back an inch or so because I couldn't get the seat to lock back. It was obviously hitting the tire, but either my seat fold lever doesn't work right or they were never spring loaded, figured out later that I have to manually lock the seat fold lever in place.

Thus no idea if mine would have fit without moving the mount back , but it was easy to do, I just welded thick washers to the existing "feet" of the mount, and bolted it down. Tire now rubs on the tailgate a hair as the mount moves around as the truck bounces around, but does not interfere with closing it.

I finally found a mount, I'll order an extra tire this week and let you guys know how it works out with a General.

I'm running a 33x12.50R15 BFG A/T with about 75% tread. It fits fine, like everyone said, I had to play with the seat to get it to fold back but it eventually went.
