33\" tires on stock springs

I want to buy a set of 33-12.5-15 mud tires and hope to put them on my 74 Blazer with stock springs. will this work with minor or no trimming?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: 33\" tires on stock springs

dependent upon your definition of minor yes...

Re: 33\" tires on stock springs

Jaco- they can fit depending on the true hight and width of the tire, and how bad your stock springs are riding. Also depends how you drive it. You will here both sides from different people, there is a ton of information here on this subject. You might be surprised at what you might find using the search feature. good luck,

How much cutting did you need to do to your rig???

Re: 33\" tires on stock springs

i just put some pro comp 33x12.50 15's on 8inch rim and they fit but when i turned i was about .5 inches away from hitting the finder so i proped my wheel on a curb and turned the wheel, the shock makes the wheel go in the fender at a curve, not straight up so i cut about and inch off the inside corners(can't even tell) and now i'm all good with stock springs..

Re: 33\" tires on stock springs

The shock is not what makes the axle move backwards and forwards under compression. That's how leaf springs work. Depending on the arch, they either get longer or shorter as they compress and the opposite when they extend. Just the nature of the beast.

Re: 33\" tires on stock springs

I have an '85 with stock sprigs right now and it has 33x12.5r15's on it no problem. on or off road. But it is truly different for everyone. the outer lugs on a mud tire might pose a problem but you might just have to beat the lip back abd you'll be fine. just try it, it's the onyl real way to find out. good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My 33's fit no problem... I've never had em rub /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

Re: 33\" tires on stock springs

My 90K5 w/33"x12.50"x15's would rub on the rear lip of the front fender well. Minor cutting or a 4" lift would make it work /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif
