What’s the minimum amount of lift needed (if any) to clear 33x12.5x20 ? I want to upsize my wheels and tires this year but do to garage door clearance I’m not sure how much higher I can go. Right now I’m sitting at stock height to my knowledge. Truck is a 87 4x4 Jimmy

Thanks

When I bought my 85, it had 33's on it. They would rub the inner fender panel on hard right hand turns into driveways.

As long as backspacing is factory, narrower tires (33x10.5) fit ok without rubbing. The issue is that the tire isn't 33" "long" when you turn. A² + B² = C² Or, 35.9". A 10.5" wide tire is 34.6" under the same conditions.

If you weren't stuck on 20's for your wheels, I found these in 17's: https://www.discounttiredirect.com/fitmentresult/tires/size/34-10.5-17

JUST less than a half inch for your turning dimension than 12.5" wide 33's, I *suspect* as people mention wider 33's at 35.9" hitting, these at 35.6" might just clear. As I recall, the 33's that do hit, are just BARELY scrubbing the fender lip.

They are expensive though. But some street tolerant 34's that clear stock suspension would be sweet!
