Ok, so just a random thot, I know for 35inch tires most people suggest a 6inch lift without trimming. My trucks in good shape, id like to get 35 or slightly bigger on her. Can this be done with a 4 inch lift and a 2-3inch body lift?

A 6 inch lift is just too much money and if I dont like how high it is for a dd, I can always take the body lift off and go back to my 33s.

Thanks

If you only drive on the street and keep the sway bar hooked up you can 35's on a 4" lift by moving the front axle forwand 1". The back clears fine, the big issue is the front. If you use off brand tires (that often are alot smaller that advertised) you may not even need to move it forward.

All you need is a zero rate, it goes between the axle and the leaf spring and basically moves the center pin. If you can install a suspension lift, you can install a zero rate.

a zero rate would work well maybe go with a 4" suspension lift and the zero rates both frotn and back to bump you up to a total of 5" but now you are able to move either front or rear axle to accommodate clearance

I DD an 81 burban with 8 inches of lift and 35 BFG's for 8 yrs. It might seem high at first but after a couple days it just seems normal.

I just put on a 4 inch superlift and I have no clearance issues so you should be fine

4" suspention and a 2" body lift is what I have with 35"s. The front will still rub even with my sway bar still in when I'm off camber and have the wheels turned. I bet if I put the zero rate in I could fix that problem, but I'm happy with the height of my truck so it stays as is.

35s and a 4 inch don't rub on street. I haven't had a chance to flex it out too much, but I drive up the 3 foot snowdrifts in my driveway and don't rub.

I had a chevy pickup with a 4" suspension & 3" body lift and ran 35" BFG's no problem, but also have seen numerous chev's with 4" suspension & 35's that seem to go just fine. I think it really depends on how you use your truck, I keep my swaybar & only do light offroading so I'll pretty much run as big a tire as will turn lock to lock without hitting sheet metal. Not so good if you have a kick ass flexy off roader trail machine though.

Heh heh....I had a buddy in high school that squeezed some 42" TSL's on his STOCK '69 Ford F250. Drove it around that way forever! 'Coarse it kinda sucked to drive with manual steering & a tiny chrome dune buggy steering wheel........ ah, hillbilly-ing at it's finest.

Are you saying to re drill the leaves to move the center pin? I need an inexpensive way to move my front axle also.

That or it would be way easier to drill the perches. Spring steel is pretty hard.

where do you get the zero rates from?

DIY4X has them as well.

With a 4" the simple answer is no. with a 6" as mentioned you'll be fine for street driving and probably a good idea to leave the sway bar on.

The fenders on these trucks just arent big enough. I could make my 33's rub with 4" Springs. I have a 6" on another truck and wide 33's but they rub on the street if I hit a dip while turning. The fact is when the tires are turned and the suspension moves up they are going to rub.

Cutting that lip off in the back is a good way to prevent this. You can do it very clean and nobody will ever even notice. Also move the axle forward an inch will also help.

I have 33x12.5x15 on my truck now, stock suspension, and my tires have never rubbed..

Tho one when making tight right turns hits my pitman arm, is that a normal problem?
