35 spline 44 with 60 outers?

i want one!!! thats freakin awesome. wonder how much it would cost to do that. fitting a 35-spline into a d44 housing is insane.

i would think u would just break the ring & pinion then, which would be costly to fix. i would rather have the weak link closer to the wheel.

true to the ring and pinion. This looks like a mod for lighter weight vehilcles like heeps, and tube buggies. Still it is really cool and if you dont run crazy rubber sizes it should stand up forever!

x2 and cheaper to fix...

the shafts are cool being 2 piece, but I wonder how they hold up. that is still something for small lightweight rigs. would be killer in a samurai with big tires.

keep the comments comming its interesting to see what people think. I just finishes building a hp dana 44 with a 35 spline arb deidenbear c's and knuckles 6 lug hubs with 13 inch rotors and willwood 4 piston calipers for a customer. its been my experiance that a dana 44 ring and pinion hasnt failed for streigth reasons all ive ever seen that failed were due to a different failure in the housing. like lack of oil spinning the carrier bering causing a inner pinion bering to fail due to the scrap metal left fron the carrier and bang the ring and pinion fails.

i ran full 35 spline dutchman axles in it one piece. from the inner axle to the outer axle all one piece axles it should and will hold up just fine

Therobzilla has Superior chromo's in his D44. He has killed several ring & pinions, lockers, & hubs. He finally broke a D44 chromo stub after wheeling on them for a few hard years. Why would you want to pay even more money to upgrade a D44 to 35 spline if you can't really break standard chromo replacements very easy? Then you are just going to start wasting R&P's? Its a waste of time & money to do a 35 spline conversion on a D44 IMHO.
