35\" tires, 6\" lift , 1990 700r4 tranny. Am I asking for trouble?

Man, I guess I caught the fever, first I thought 2" lift then 4" now 6". I got a couple of concerns. What kind of handling can I expect on my 1990 suburban? I have 3.73 gears now, if I go with 4.56(I'm not sure of the exact ratio after 4.11's) will my tranny and 10 bolts be reliable? I mainly tow on highways. I'm planning a tuff country all spring lift. What other mods besides a steering arm will I need to do it right? Will I still be able to cruz on highways at 75mph or will a 6" lift just be too much for every day use? Also will 35" tires clear everything w/ 6" lift without cutting anything? Thanks.

My Blazer has a 4" lift with 35's. My wheels don't rub on the street, but I'm going to have to trim the fenders or lift it more when I go 4 wheelin. You will still be able to go 75mph on the highway.

Shum I think you should go for it man. 35's shouldn't be a problem at all under a 6"lift. 4.56 gears would help, but not much of a change from 3.73's. As far as cruisin 75mph, I dont think you'll have a problem. Just my 2 cents.

All you are asking for is a sweet ride. With a 6" lift driveshaft angles start to become an issue, with the suburban it may not be a big deal but you may want to drop the t case or install a rear cv joint.

I know most people here hate the 10bolt, but aside from that, the guy who build all my rear ends also said that if I plan on towing alot with the 10bolt, it will explode!! Just something else to think about.
