I would like to pre oil my 350 that has been sitting. How do I remove the distributor, run the pump and then reinstall the distributor in the correct location?

might want to think about changing the oil too.

Just mark the location of the dist. housing to the intake manifold, remove cap and wires, unplug dist wires, remove dist. noting that it will turn about 1/8 turn while removing, keep this in mind when istalling it again; insert priming tool, crank with drill to show oil pressure, remove priming tool, and insert dist. to reference mark. If it don't seat on the manifold you will have to look down into the hole where the dist goes to see the oil pump driveshaft, and line it up so the bottom of the dist will engage it. install all wires again and fire it up. Check timing per instructions in manual.
