my motor is a 87 350 tbi. question is are the 350 vortech heads compatible with my 350. if i so any preference on year models. still trying to decided on heads or nave the valve seats replaced. the motor has 87,000 miles still runs good just has the chevy smoke when first cranked.. thanks!!!!!

Vortec heads will fit, But you will have to buy the TBI intake with the vortec pattern from GM or have the heads drilled and tapped.

please don't have the heads drilled and tapped. It will work but the intake runners on the vortec heads are taller then a standard sb. The angles of the runner from the carb to the heads are not as great when compare from the standard performer to my vortec performer. The height of the carb base on the vortec performer is almost the same height as the standard RPM performer.

Getting the heads drilled and tapped is not the best way to handle the situation from "what I've heard" from gear heads.
