Im trying to find out some info on my 350, i have searched all over and cant come up with anything, The code behind the alternator on the Pad in front of the head is VH233D34. The only thing i know is that the motor is supposedly a Gm Goodwrench crate motor but it was also sposed to have 3.73's and turned out to have 3.08's.

I checked my chevy v-8 engine number casting guide and found nothing with numbers even close to those. What info you lookin for? Check behind the drivers side cylinder head for the block numbers.

The numbers he listed won't be in a casting guide. This is not a casting number, but a stamped number, indicating the application of that particular engine. What is that one site? Mortec? Or something like that.

there should be another set of stamps up on the front there. the ending should have a "C.." if it was a car or a "T.." for a truck or a "U.." in the case of my suburban code.

but i guess if it really is a crate it wouldn't be stamped but like mentioned above the rear numbers will tell ya to. Also the head numbers will help.

I can give you any info you need on a 350. If that is the only number you could find on the machined pad then that engine is a crate engine.

Of course getting an eye on any of the numbers while the motor is complete and installed is next to impossible. /twiddlethumbs
