ok i tore down my 86 350. already talked about the heads in another thread but my cylinder walls look kinda bad, my 6 months of sitting let the water leaks rust up 2 cylinders i was thinking of rebuilding the bottom end i know i can just clean up the walls and check my piston ring gap but what kinda money am i looking at if i want to put a stroker kit in it? i was thinking of getting a 400 crank and was wondering how much and i looking at for new pistons and rods and the machine work? im on a tight budget so i dont know what to do.

Depending on what the labor rate in your area is, I'd guess it's at least a grand in labor if they tear it down, machine it, and reassemble it.

You tear it down , they bore and hone , install cam bearings , and hang the rods on the pistons , you notch the block and grind the rod bolts for the cam to slip by , you measure and check as you assemble once , you final assemble if clearances are good .

the one sitting in my garage , 900 bucks parts and labor with clevite/melling/fel-pro/speed pro parts , unassembled with no heads , and my crank/rods and block .
