350 Ruined?

She still running with that pinging sounds from top of the block. She started to stall and backfire tonight while cruising at 60MPH. I eased off gas pedal and she settled. If I'm aggressive on gas pedal she will backfire now.

Could possibly be a lifter problem, maybe collapsed. That will create a "ticking" noise and cause stuttering. Try running very thick oil i.e. 25W50 and maybe some of the lucas oil stabilizer (very thick stuff).

I will try this now.

i would do what scott said first, check your valvetrain before you go dumping 25w50 and lucas in. he builds engines for a living and he wouldn't steer you in the wrong direction

I'D LIKE TO THNAKS ALL FOR YOUR HELP.

Isnt it great when the fix isnt a fix at all?

Oh and tell that shop to shove it when it comes to higher octane fuel. You aren't at that high of an elevation and your engine doesnt need that higher octance stuff. In colorado we reutinely wheel above 13k feet and the low octane fuel (85 octane) burns just fine.

Yes I'll Have A Chat With Them, Since They Were The Ones Who Left The Plugwire Off.

don't feel bad, on my 88 power ram i had 2 of the wires crossed and i advanced the timing a little too much and it wouldn't pull hills without coughing and dying. that plagued me for a couple months all cause i was in a hurry when i tuned it up and i didn't check the wires when i was done. it runs better than when i first bought it now!

Check the three harmonic damper bolts! If they removed the harmonic damper to gain additional clearance for the front of the oil pan, they may have not tightened them enough. Loose bolts would allow the pullys to torque ( rattle ) left and right when the engine speeds up or slows down. It sounds like engine bearings. The bell shape of the pullys amplify the noise. Eventually the pullys will cut off the bolts. I had this happen to me.
