ok ive got a 87 k10 with 350 TBI bone stock. im looking to swap in some better heads. this is my dd and i wheel it ocasionally im not looking for the most hi tech heads im just simply looking for a little more power. i was looking at these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-151124/ i was wondering if there is any other work adjustments or tunes i would need to make to put these heads on and still have it run right if not better all help will be appreciated and suggestions would help too

WAY BETTER MODS over heads at this starting point.

search here and find lots of mods to do to the tbi motors to get more power.

not saying heads wont work but got to get air in first and out.

known for tiny cams stock and major restricted exaust. along with bumping up fuel psi 2-3 psi will help.

ok ive got a single cherry bomb exhaust no cat and stock exhaust manifolds. how much difference would shorty headers make? would i notice any hp diff? i planned on doing headers anyways

You will notice a little difference, but it will be great base for future mods. Think of it like this, the best runner at the olympics can't run his best breathing through a coffee straw.

I like using the mid-late 70s camaro mid-lengths. They breath almost as good as full length headers and you can tuck the exhaust up tighter, so you don't snag it on stuff if you're wheeling. Also go ahead and get a starter heat shield or a starter heat wrap, I'll save you from heat soaking your starter.

as i have said use the serarch button here.

cam's are tinny in these. few good drop in cams that play nice with computers. and search headers for the 2 brands that drop in AND clear the shackles and sit high in frame not below frame rails.

and good cam/headers/fuel psi bump to 13psi should get you min 30 hp and lot more tourqe .

dont forget with cam you need low to mid power as trucks are heavy and need tourqe to get rolling.

i just turned sixteen and ive been driving it around the block getting it to move is not a problem she goes pretty good for a lifted truck with stock motor and 35s i stopped at a stop sign and put her to the floor and with no brake it didnt hesitate to spin those 35s but right now i love the way the truck sounds its not all crackily but its loud. i might just start with some cheap shorty headers. just curious what kind of differance would it make if i did shorty headers, edlebrock intake manifold. would i notice any acceleration difference?

if tbi the edelbrock intake for them is not as good as most think it will be from what i have read.

good exaust will be better.

better cam will be a LOT better.

and cheep mod is bumping the psi on the fuel pressure regulator to 13 psi . others have done just this and huge diffrence.

lots of good info in fuel injection section if you can get in there as a non paid member ?

yea i just did a search on here and there are a few threads sayin you can gain 50hp from headers and exhaust and some fine tuning

i did the cheeper plate non machined center and machined it out my self and didnt see a whole lot of power in my seat .

min if any real notice.

cam selection for computer friendly is vary important. some can play nice with no chip mods but most need tweeking for best results.

you need bolt on simple stuff by the sounds of it.

ok now my next question would a bored out throttle body alone help at all with power and fuel or woulf the throttle body from above link help?
