Hey, I was wondering if anyone has dropped a stock 350 tpi from say a camaro or Corvette into one of these rigs?
I'm looking to get a decent daily driver/off road capable k5. Proably going to go 4-6 inch lift and 35x12.5x15 tires and had an idea.

I'm not sure what the stock 350s in these trucks put out power wise, can anyone fill me in?

Now the numbers from a 80s ish 350 tpi are give or take 250hp and 350lbft of torque, I dont know those compare to the stock 350 power numbers, but I Imagine the 350 lbft will get the truck moving pretty decently?

The tpi also gave the camaros at least decent MPG, from what I gather, 20ish combined highway/town. So maybe in a k5 it will get Decent mileage?

Any opinions?
Thanks
-Steve-

There are a few of us that have swapped to TPI, I can only think of one person that did a "stock" motor install with one, not that it matters much.

I *think* the Corvette setup might save you effort and money, I'm trying to find some fuel rails for one right now to see if they will tie into the truck TBI fuel lines, which means the fuel delivery portion would be easier to source. As it is now, running new lines is pretty expensive, moreso than it should be.

I have tuned port in my 79 GMC its not a tpi engine but a mild 355 with a roller cam and 10.0 to 1 comp. It hauls ass and gets about 13 MPG with my heavy right foot. It got 6 MPG before I converted it to TPI.

Thanks. The cam I used is a stock 98 GMC 1 ton pickup hyd roller. 195 dur at .050 and 425 lift. With Vortec heads, it puts out about 350 HP and 390 lb ft of torque.
