350 Vin number what year is it????

Ok i had put a post up about what year my new engine was and if it was a 350. I got the vin number off the engine this morning when i pulled it out. They are 3970010 the theres a space where theres a hump in the block then 12
so its 3970010 12 ok can anyone tell me the year and if its a 350?
need all the help i can get

the 3970010 is just the cating number. It pretty general and will give you the round about year (sometimes) Get all the numbers and check this website

Get the numbers stamped on the front passenger area of the block. On my truck it's behind and underneath the alternator...there's a machined boss at the part line between the block and the passenger head.

Then go to www.mortec.com
