3500HD differences

I found a guy paring out a big block powered 3500HD. I was wondering what differences I would encounter trying to swap its 7.4l into my crew cab? Will the accessories and other parts from the heavier truck work in my K2500 or do I need to look for another donor?
 
Yeah. My K2500 is an old body style 2000 and the 3500HD is a 1999.
 
Ok. I'll take a look at it then. He is saying the engine is bad but I may be able to get him down in price and have a spare core plus all the swap stuff as spares. Have to see what kinda shape its all in. Thanks guys.
 
Correct me if I am wrong, but 99-00 OBS are not solid axle. Unless I miss understood.:dunno:

Correct. Theres a few dead giveaways other than the straight 2wd I beam front end. The frame is riddled with very thick stiffener plates, the bumper is lowered has a filler piece between the grille and the bumper to meet bumper height laws for a technically "Light duty" vehicle, its split pattern lugs (I believe wide spread 5 lug up front and 10 lug in the rear).

Honestly they are a great GMT400 platform to build a wheeler off of. The front end can be simply changed out for a dana 60 and a divorced case used or trans/tcase swap.
 
I'm not looking at it for more than an engine donor for my K2500. I was just curious if it had a completely different accessory system or mounting. I need to check and see if it is an automatic or not. I would imagine if it is, it's probably not a 4L80E due to the higher GVWR.
 
It will either be a NV4500 or 4L80E. It will have an emergency brake on the tail housing of the transmission.
