35in tire in spare carrier on k5?

Not in the stock carrier. It will hit the tailgate before you can close it.

With my 33" BFG's it rubbed the tailgate (annoying), so I lengthened the "feet" that bolt to the floor, and moved it forward a few inches. Just slotting the holes wasn't enough.

I'm not at the truck, I am unsure if it would be possible to move it forward far enough to clear the tailgate, and still have the seat back locked back with the 35".

I had a 33x12.5R15 back there at one point as well, so if on a stock wheel, clearance with the wheelwell should be no issue. I suppose you'd have to have some weird backspacing to cause that problem.

Stock some had 31's, and the slot in the carrier itself is plenty for 33's, but there is definitely difference in the trucks and the tires themselves. I don't doubt they don't fit in some, but if 33's just barely fit in mine, don't fit in yours, a 35 isn't going to fit in any of them without modifications.

I had thought about making something to raise the tire up off the bed, but the tire would have to nearly touch the roof to clear the tailgate, at which point it might hit the glass, and a rear passenger would probably be bouncing their head off of it. :)

If I have to I can make a new or modify my current tire support brace. I'm not sure if the 35bfg would vlose with the tailgate.

If you don't need the rear seat, you can easily modify it to fit. My seat has a lot of slop in it, but I'm pretty sure another 2" would be a no-go for the seat AND clearing the tailgate. Set the tire in there with the carrier empty, see what clearances look like.

I have not bought the 35s yet. I may just go with a 33 for the spare only.

I have a 33 in mine. It fits fine. I loosened all the bolts on the tire carrier when I first put it in and then tightened them down. The spare touches the tailgate and the seat, but I think i could squish it another inch into the seat. Its a 33x12.5 baja claw. I don't know what they measure out to for real. Not all tires o.d. measure what they are advertised as. The only thing that is a little off is the circle that holds the middle of the rim. It is off center. I think it also depends on the width of your rim, and offset.
