Is anyone running 38.5-11-15 Boggers on their K5? How do you like them on this heavier truck.. I need a tire that will fit on a 8" wide tire. Pics would be great. Thanks!
A guy in town runs those tires on a blazer with a custom dually dana 70 out back. Honestly I dont think he does to good in it. Its a huge cool looking truck but I've heard his rear end goes in and those skinny tires just dig right in.
I know that a 12.5 inch will fit great on my 8" wide rims, I was just looking on the Interco website and could not find a Bogger in 12.5 inches wide other than maybe a 33". I think that the 15" tires will be too wide. My plans are to get a 37-13.00-15 Bogger but if I could get something like a 38.5-12.5 I would be even happier cause intercos 37 Bogger is more like a 35.. etc. etc.
I thought i read somewhere that the 38.5's measure small and the 37's measure true. I'd go for those 37x13's those are a nice size. A guy in town runs them on a 4banger ranger and he spins them nice. Your horse power/torque would be so much more well applied with a narrower tire like that.
If your worried about visuals my buddy has 36x13 iroks on his f250 and they look proportional. I dont have a problem with my 36x12.5's though.
12.5 is the cross section (the wides part of the tire) of the matching youre tread width with the rim width, is your best bet for the propper look. I sell specality hot rod tires for a living. The rule we use here is try and get the tread width (the part that touches the ground) and the rim width with in an inch and a half of each other. I personally think 12.5s from Interco look better on a 8 in rim, you can run a little lower tire presure on the trail too. just advice
I have run them on my truck for 2 years now. They have there pros and cons. They are definately narrow and like to dig a lot in the soft ground, which means you cant crawl around in it, you pretty much have to throttle through everything or you dig to china, On the other hand if its wet and slimey out they do fairly well just like any other bogger. Currently I am looking for TSLs in a bigger flavor to suit my type of wheeling better, but these have served me well.
