OK I know that this question has been asked before, but hopefully not exactly. In a 90 model K1500 does anyone sell a chip already programed for a 383 conversion. My uncle wants to do this but is not interested in tuning or waiting for a tune. Thanks

Brian deals with this stuff all the time, never heard anything bad about him either.

Be sure that he asks about the injectors, whether he needs new ones or not.

Thats what I did. It only took him a day or 2 to burn my chip. Be sure to know the motor specs.

tbichips is the way to go it is what i have in mine and it runs great. he is a great guy to deal with and i have had no problems with my setup since i put in his chip.

Yeah Brian seems to be Mr Chips. Never heard a bad word. But you've got to remember that he can only do 'so much' with proper data logging and re burning. You'll certainly get a good 'get you going' chip though and most people are more than happy with that.
But I've got to say that you guys are missing out on a whole new, and very interesting, world of DIY tuning by getting a chip burnt for you.:D

Slightly off topic but here goes. I'm installing my new engine (hot 350 but still ECM friendly) I'm using a 454 TBI unit on this engine due to HP/TQ requirements. I'm going to have Brian burn me a chip (and i've e-mailed him several times already) but i'm still a little unsure of something. He told me that i should not attempt to use my stock chip to start the vehicle. He said i'll ruin my engine. This being the case i'm guessing that with all the proper engine specs he is able to burn me a chip to get me close enough to start with (this is what he's told me) but once that happens does he re-burn a chip after some data logging has been done to get a more refined tune into it? If so does he charge full price again for the re-burn or is that part of his original price? I've e-mailed him this question but still haven't gotten a response to my question and he has e-mailed back and just said don't use the stock chip.

Sorry for such a long winded question.

I haven't used him but from what I've read he generally manages to supply a chip that is 'good enough' for most peoples tastes but if your motor is a combo he hasen't done before it may need further tuning.
To be honest, even if it ran great I'd do a lot of data logging and let him look at it and burn another if necessary.
Your stock chip will not fuel properly with a 454 TB due to BPW etc being different and the fuel pressure of a 454TB being so much higher. With a 350 chip the pressure will fuel too much with the stock BPW.
As for his charges, I have no idea. I would hope they'd be less as you've just paid for one but then again from his point of view, the chip he's doing for you is probably from his 'back catalogue' of burns that he's done. If you datalog and ask for another burn, he'll have to anylize the data then massage the .bin to suit. It's possible to do it yourself if he leaves the chip 'readable' but many people like Jet etc make their chip read falsely when you try to copy/modify them.

Ok, just an update on my situation. I received an e-mail back from Brian at TBIchips.com and he told me that i just need to supply him with my engine specs and he will burn a chip based on a similar configuration that he's already done. Once i install the chip and do some data logging then i send him the data log file and the chip and he makes any necessary adjustments and returns the chip back with no additional cost. He said if i'm still not happy we just repeat the process again until i'm satisfied. :thumb:

This is the kind of customer service that i like. He will definately get ALL of my future chip needs and i would highly refer anyone to him as well.
