All the serp belt stuff up until 1993 used a CS130, 1994 and later could be either a CS130 or CS130D

That is good to know. I kept looking in the GM Performance Parts catalog and they don't say what alternator or PS pump part numbers are in the serpentine kit. Apparently they use remanufactured pumps and alternators if you order the entire kit. I'm thinking I should just get the brackets and then buy a better alternator and PS pump.

There were several trucks in the Pick N Pull in newark last sunday when i was there that still had both serp brackets on them. I'm pretty sure all the pulleys were still there as well on at least one of the trucks.

I might be going back tomorrow for a few bolts and things. I could check and post back if you want.

These are from standard 350 engines and not the LS stuff which is completely different.

I wonder how much it would run from a junkyard. The setup I am looking at new is only $350 for all of the brackets and pulleys plus no labor time. And interestingly enough, this post put me at 5150 posts. How appropriate.

I bet you could get both brackets and all serp pulleys for probably under 100.00. I do know that one of the trucks i seen had an A/C delete bracket and pulley on it.

Just got back from Pick N Pull. The 2 trucks that were there with brackets are now gone (that whole row of trucks is gone). I did however come upon a 93 burb that still had the passenger side bracket on it. I robbed the bolts and stuff i needed from this truck so i did not look any further for other trucks with the serp stuff.

Maybe I'll take a trip to one of the Pick n' Pull's and take a stroll around next weekend. You never know what you will run across.

The problem I see with many of the custom engine build sites is that they are usually trying for horsepower and the engines are as stated as in that ad, "street/strip." I know some folks have dropped rat motors in their rigs, or other high horsepower powerplants and I think that is fine for some applications. However, my rig is strictly a desert crawler that sees slow canyon running, creek crossings, minimum maintained trails, overland running, and in general slow moving exploration where hauling heavy gear is the key. I'm not looking to light up all four tires on the pavement at the In n' Out or take it to a show. Nothing wrong with that, just not my interest. I want low end grunt with superior reliability. If I was made of money, I would swap in a big block also with an emphasis on torque.
