Anyone here running 39.5 IROKs w/ a 4" lift? Just curious how they are wearing. I drive to the trails and want the best of both worlds(traction, streetability). I have 37" MT OZ on the k5 now and want a little more clearance under the pumpkin. I am running a 14FF rear, and a D60 up front.

yes i run 40in iroks with a 2.5in lift they wear ok mine lasted for 2 years on my daily driver i love mine

you runnin the radials or bias ply? i need tired for mine and i really like the IROKs. heard great things about them too.

I will most likely run the bias due to their strength-knowing I will suffer a little on the highway. I was told by local 4x tire/parts store that the IROk tires wear very fast and this is a bit of a concern considering I have a detroit in the 14ff. If anyone has a link w/ pics of their rig with the 39.5s that would be great.

He is running bias and fully locked with detroits front and rear....and yes, this is on his daily driver

im running 39.5 bias iroks on my dd k5, locked front and rear. i love them! ive gotten up to 75mph on the highway and they were smooth, not even balanced. here is a pic

would you recomend going with the bias or the radials? a buddy of mine has a set of the radials on his j@@p and they are pretty sweet. but the bias ply are cheaper...

Here is my rig 39.5. They are soft and leave black marks everywhere. mine aren't balanced and I cant get up to about 50 without problems...

All super swampers are soft and leave a mark, that is why they wear quick and that is why they are so good for traction.
:D

Nice K5s

Thanks Muddybuddy, and GPNjuice nice pics of your K5s. Mudhog, do you have any pics of your K5 on this page? With 4" of lift I figured on putting at least a 2" body lift and serious trimming to get those 39.5 IROKs on my K5. I still want my rig to have something resembling articulation.
Thanks.

I have 4" suspension and 1" body, and I had to trim a good bit behind the front tire. These tires are also the worst riding interco tire that I have ever owned. I dont think they would last very long if you drove it on the street every day.

mine are bias ply and i have detroits front and rear. i have a 2.5in lift and lots of triming and i can still max out a 23 degree rti ramp but my backspacing keeps the tires inside the fenderwell. yes there are pics of my rig in the gallery here on ck5

in the garage georgia gabe has pics of 4" lift and 42" iroks. ive got bias and im really pleased with their wear so far.

muddybuddy, how many miles do u have on your iroks? my 38" bias swapers are wearing really good so far and that's with a spool out back. I'm thinking about getting some 39.5 or 37 iroks next year.. most likely radials.

sorry for the hijack...

ive put about 1500 miles on them, and so far they look good as new. i did get one of the sidewalls scratched up a good bit offroading first trip out:mad: but no problems with them, i love they way the handle on the trails. i considered the radials, but i couldnt justify the extra $60 a tire to get radials. i kinda wish i had gone with 17's and 42's, so i might try to sell these eventually
