39.5 Swampers FOR GETTING SERIOUS

"Custom professional Frame mods..." :haha:

Everything about that just looks dangerous. Hope it never gets driven on the street.

Definitely has some crazy/scary stuff going on but I like the front shock mounts.

yeah, huge revolving shackles. I'm gunna contact this person and see if there's video of it offroading. I wanna see it lol. There is a lot of wrong going on but seems like they are trying. My biggest beef is the contradiction. When we say "have a game plan and stick with it" to newbie members.....its for good reason. You spend x2 what you need to and end up with a contradiction.

350 fuel injected, turbo 350 and 205 T-case. Lots mores. Ground up built for mud. One ton axles and 60 front with 44 outers and high steer. 63's springs in rear. Everything built for flex

Small blocks work ok, but a big block is for "mud". 350/205 works for mud, but not crawling (ask ChrisP :)) so why need flex? Dana 44 brakes on a fullsize doesn't sound right. 63s for a mud truck?

Not to mention all the other trackbar/shackle/3rd link madness we CAN see.

So I have been wheeling for a long time. Like 15 years ago I built a rig very similar suspension wise. Without any knowledge of actual suspension design it seems like it would be awesome. Talk about weird suspension movement

Just texted the person. Says he's going to Brown's Camp and Little Rubincon (unfamiliar with both) Monday and Tuesday. He might add a video or some pictures to the CL ad. :D

That probably doesn't mean much to someone in L.A. :) But basically it's the only real-deal 4x4 area near PDX.

Hope he puts the front driveshaft back in before he goes..I'd like to see any of those vids...I think he'd have a tuff time getting past the filters on most of the stuff at browns camp.

Yeah I know, to emphasize... on a fullsize I mean. Seems like smaller brake conversions are for buggies or jeeps running D60s

Yep. It's one of those issues where you can, but shouldn't, especially with huge, heavy tires. And with that wacky suspension, I can't imagine it would stop well. If it's a trail only rig, maybe.

I'd be concerned about rust. The rot at the back of the cab could indicate trouble for the rest of the body. Again, if trail-only less of a concern.

Maybe smaller brakes are safer with that suspension. Imagine a street panic stop, where those double shackles start to unload - then you have to swerve a little or something and then get off the brake...where does everything end up?

Which one is it? How can a regular shackle not be enough for rear droop when there are old school traction bars in back? Same for the front with a panhard bar. What do the mega shackles do when you descend a steep drop off? And if they really swing down, what happens to the driveshaft U-joints?

That pivoting spring pack seems innovative, but does it really help anything? Seems like the rear end could walk side to side a bit - could be creepy on road. It must be off-road only the way it's set up.

Those springs are gonna do everything awful you can think of.

I have done pivoting spring mounts not worth the wibble wobbles.

Really not worth it on longer springs

"The back of all 4 leaf springs unlock and drop down for more travel. "

You can see the bolt that goes under the front 'second shackle' and in the rear it looks like it goes through the 'second shackle'. Not saying that there isn't slop in the system but they don't unload under a panic stop.

if the bolts were out it sure would, which is how its setup. You take out the bolts close to the shackle when your ready to "get serious".

imagine your on a steep down hill, your already moving and you hit the brakes hard to slow down... the springs unload and bammo. instant death or life in the hospital... for more excitement throw in a little sidehill.

I would wager that thing would endo on the entrance to Hells Revenge
