396 Big block Mounts? Headers?

Has anybody put a big block in their 69 K5? Of course you have. I was told I could buy some aftermarket engine mounts, and trany mounts (T350 and 205). Where can I get them?
Additionally, what kind of headers should a guy run? I am looking to stay high and inside the frame rails...for maximum clearence.


Yep...just starting the build...hoping it turns into something cool.

DIY4X.COM (Cyberfire) will help you with motor mounts.

My 396 bolted right up....no special mounts needed. I do have a 2" body lift, so I've got more firewall clearance than usual.

Thorley 304Y headers fit fine too.

I used my stock mounts in my 69 K20 but did have to make some firewall mods in addition to a body lift. Info re my exhuast is here http://yukon.b0xen.us/headersweb.html and there is lots of info about the whole project in the main part of that website.

My God. Great pictures. Ok, so you guys have not made it any easier for my to just buy something! And, I don't want a body lift, but it looks like I am going to need one? I have 6" springs on there now, and I only want to run 35" tires... I love the way it looks on 40's...I just want to keep it simple...I want to take it to the gym, maybe some light crawling (I had a BUILT rig before...and most places around here were just too easy...so I want mostly a rig I can take fishing. (Of course the guy building the 396 wants me to have the BIGest COOLest engine out there...I honestly just want to drop an EFI motor in there and a 700r4 and a transfer case and call it good.
