just wondering if i could make my new 396 into a 427? Looking at the bore and stroke of the two, a 454 crank would give the same strokeof the 427 and the 396 already has the same bore, so a 454 crank in a 396= 427!!!! maybe  maybe not  just wondering if i could do it or if it would be worth it. thanks

A 427 has a 4.25" bore with a 3.75" stroke. A 454 crank will not swing in a 396 block. You would need to have a 454 block and install a 396 crank to achieve a 427.
