Here's a pic:

Came out of the moving van that I drove across country (3 times!)....sweet running engine, and pulled like a champ even though it was jailed in a 20,000 Lb truck.

Engine has a 2BBL carb and manifold, and the original points dizzy was replaced with an Accel HEI (a lot less headaches)...was originally bolted to a Clark 5-speed manual trans, so it's got a flywheel (not a flexplate). It's nice and dry with no leaks... (see photo)

Basically, it's got everything you see in this photo... (manifolds were badly cracked, so they got thrown away). This engine is priced like a "core" but you can run it just the way it is.... (taillight warranty available for an extra charge :D )

I've got new parts coming in, and need to make room in the garage in the next few weeks, so bring your cash. I'll even help you load it. :deal:

Block Casting Numbers:
3999290....396.......68-69...2 or 4 bolt, Truck
3999290....402.......70-72...2 or 4 bolt, Truck
3999290....402.......72......2 or 4 bolt, Passenger

Head Casting Numbers:
3917215....67-68...oval..CLOSED..396, 427, 101cc chamber

$600

I'll throw in a free can of Chevy Orange engine enamel too..... or Blue if that's what Buicks use. :deal:

TTT - Updated original post with Block & Head casting numbers...

I wouldn't mind getting an offer on this one..... :deal:

Space in the garage is getting tighter.

New teaser pic.....

HINT: Only one of these will be sold for $700. Bring a much thicker stack of Benjamins if you want a BBC that's a bit larger and newer. :deal:

What kind of numbers do you think this motor is putting out?

It seems like a stock motor, so I'd expect the numbers to be equivalent to a standard factory offering from that time period (67 - 72)

Yes, i finally got both of the engines done and a friend of mine delivered them for me.

BTT..... don't force me to deal with those CraigsList or eBay weirdos!

I would love to take that off of your hands but I do not have the funds right now.

BTT with the BBC...

Someone shoot me an offer. :deal:

Pete, the only thing that should be going in a '65 Riviera is a dual carbed 425 Nailhead...backed with a switch pitch TH400. :cool1:

Bump for Greg's 396...
