I was putting a 3 in body lift on my 86 k5 and ran into a couple of problems. i need to extend/ modify the transmission/t-case linkage and don't know how. any info is useful.
thanks
kevin

those kits usually have a 3" piece of stock to weld onto you existing shaft to make it long enough.

yup, you need to weld a 3" extension on to your shift linkage (assuming you have an auto), and as far as the t-case goes, mine adjusted using the adjuster on the t-case linkage. the lever is mounted to the body, but the linkage itself adjusts w/ nuts. crawl under and look, its actually pretty easy.

the body lift kit should of came w/ the extension for for tranny, but a piece of rod of similar size will work.

good luck rob

thanks a lot that will help. also is there anything i should know about the heater core when i lift it? i tried lifting it already and antifreeze leaked all over my floorboard. just wondering

You may have a dry rotted core line and when you lifted it, it went ahead and cracked open on ya. You may need to get some more hose (longer) adn replace it.
