What do you guys use for different task's?

I know different colors are for different purposes, but what works best for say doing head gaskets, or just cleaning up cast iron?

If you just want to polish per say use the skotch bright roloc disc's/pads. They can and will cut if you lean on them too hard but just go light and they polish great.

Ive used them quite a bit in the past, but where I lived, I had to use whatever the parts store could get.

Ive got to clean up a block while a head gasket job, and I dont want to use something too coarse.

I have the die grinder and the attachment they screw onto. I figured I would use that instead of a razor blade, Ive become somewhat lazy these days.

i live by 2 and 3" course surface conditioning at work... occasionally I'll run mediums depending on the surface... I also use tons of 24 grit grinding discs.. green 3M...

i've bought TONS of knockoff's on Eghey... mostly grinding discs... i'm talking bags of 50 and such... 24 to 50 grit... 3M's are THE best.. no doubt... but a lot of the knockoffs have held up decent..

I use the Red Scocthbrites for any iron based surface and green for Aluminum
