What is supposed to hold the 3rd seat up and in place when you tumble it forward ?
Is there a secret latch or stap or..........????
If there isn't anything from the factory, what ideas has anyone come up with to hold it in place ?

When you fold it forward, they weight of the seat is all that holds it up, there is no factory hold up latch that I'm aware of.

3rd seat

The three Subs I have owned had no tumble feature. The lever on the lower right side (as viewed from the back) allows the seat back to be folded and locked forward and down on the seat. The latch in the lower middle allows for complete removal.

Are you talking about tumbling forward like a K5? Never saw one of these in a Sub. Maybe someone else out there knows - could a K5 seat have been swapped in? Or maybe it has some sort of conversion seat?

No, I guess it really doesn't "tumble" in that sense. When I release it with the center lever I lift it out of its track stand it up like it was tumbled and rest it against the middle seats.
Are the blazers different ? that might be a good idea.

i want to say that a couple of years ago, i saw in a parts mag, just what you guys are talking about. it was an extra bracket that allowed the third seat to fold and tumble. the pic was of the 92 and newer subs, i belive. looked for the mag a few months back, but couldn't find it. it was performance accessories or something like that.

it shouldnt be too hard for one of the brilliant minds here at ck5 to turn out a flip kit.

I feel left:( out my '73 just has bolt holes for the 3rd row.
The only tumbling it gets to do is out the barn doors & onto the drive way.:wink1:
