There is very little difference between your current 3.73 gears and 4.10 to the point you probably won't be able to tell the difference.......I made this mistake many years ago before knowing any better. I remember being so excited that I had the stock 3.73 swapped out for 4.10's and then being disappointed on the drive home from the shop as I couldn't really tell the difference. The only way I would go to 4.10 if you did a complete axle swap as that is a very common factory gear ratio and should be cheap, but I would never pay the money to buy new gear sets and have a shop install install them. As mentioned above 4.56's would be the minimum change I would do and would consider 4.88's. If you drive on the road alot and plan to stay on 35's I think the 4.56's would be fine. Just keep in mind that 4.10's are very common stock in 3/4 ton trucks with the 4L80E and dinky 30-ish inch tall stock tires.
I also agree that installing new gear sets is not a good choice of projects for a rookie mechanic with limited knowledge. Besides for requiring a few specialty tools the actual labor required to change gears isn't that hard, but it's the setting of the tolerances with shim packs and such that require somebody to know what they are doing.
