I came across a set of rebuilt 3/4 ton axels with 4.11 gears, will it be to much of a gear for a k5 that sees a lot of on/off road driving? i have a 350, 700r4, 208 set up. i plan on running 33's for now.
i did a search, but what is the numeber needed for the conversion ujoint, and will the front need a conversion as well. im finally upgrading from 10 bolts, it so exciting. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif
No need for a conversion u joint for the front 3/4 ton axle. A 3/4 ton front axle is basically just a 1/2 ton front axle with a couple minor differences (backing plate and outer stubs I think). A 3/4 ton rear axle is exactly the same as a 1 ton rear axle except for spring perches and shock mounts hence the need for a specal rear u joint.
