4.3 tech.. Anyone?

Does anyone know of any major internal differences on 4.3's for different years of the EFI ones? I have an opportunity to get a good top end for a 4.3 and will be in need of a short block but dont know much about them. THe parts I may be getting are off a 2000 4.3 Vortec w/CPI.... So I will need a block, crank pistons and cam...
Anyone know of any differences in the short blocks throguh the EFI years?
