4:56 Gears

I have a 87 GMC Jimmy that I would like to put some 4:56 gears in the front and rear along with dtroit lockers in the rear because I have a 4" susp lift with 35's. What do I need to have this done as in the gears, install kit, and case?

Thax for the site. That is some good reading for sure. I have someone that will install everything on the side for me, I just really need to know what to order so the installation can be done.

I don't know what gear ratio you have now, but if you have 3:73 or less you will have to buy a new carrier assembly for the front (if it's a GM) and since your changing to a locker on the back they parts dealer can match that up for you.

Two installation kits.
Two sets ring and pinion
One posi unit (for rear)
One Carrier assembly for front. If your present one is a GM.

I'm not sure myself the ratio now, but it is stock. It is a GM front so thanx for letting me know about the carrier I will need to buy as well as the posi unit. I did not know about those items. Any recommend good sites to shop and find out the carrier type I'll need?
