i picked up a set of 1tons w/ 4.56's, but the 14bolt does not have a locker.
i was under the impression that 4.56's were an option from a military rig, and the only way they came was with a locker.
kinda confused.
anybody happen to know what my donor vehicle coould have been, or have a gear ratio chart?

they made 4.56 gears for other vehicles besides military...

I have an open carrier at home that is 4.56 that came from a C&C truck...

ok so i dont have a raped set of axles
not sure why i was under the impression that ratio only came w/ lockers

Cab and chassis civilian 14 bolt with 4.56 and open diffs are common. I have had one.

my truck is a 1978 chevy cheyenne camper special.... 8400gvrw... 4.56's factory and no locker... well when i bought it.. it does now... :woot:

If i recall correctly the m1008 (1 1/4 pickup) which is probably the military truck your thinking about came with a detroit in the rear and an open front which might have been what you were thinkin of.
