i am thinkin bout putting the bluggy runnin gear under the 86. my question is how can i find out how 4.88's and 35" sx tires run down the highway with the 305 700r4 setup?

there are some website, im sure somebody will post them up. its gonna be high rpms. lots of power tho on the trail

4.88 axle gears with the 700r4 in 4th (OD) would be equivalent on the highway to a truck with a TH350 or TH400 with 3.42 gears (4.88 x 0.70 = 3.42). I doubt anybody will say that 35" tires with 3.42 gears would be too low of gearing for running down the highway.
