4" Cast Iron Blocks

i have std 1/2 ton block in my 1ton for the lift in the rear. hole size was same for the pin and no problems.

but do plan on cutting off the shcks mounts on the rear axle and turning them up and rewelding them. the body of the shock will hit the axle tube and not let it swing in to place. found this out on mine. its a 1ton only thing.

would 3/4 ton ones work? i had them on a 14 bolt?
You have to measure the center pin head diameter to know for sure. I have a standard set of blocks for a 1/2" pin (3/8" thread) but they don't fit my truck. I need blocks for a 5/8" pin (7/16" thread). Not all one tons use the larger center pin I'm guessing.

I also have an M1028 with a Dana 70 rear.

Have you measured the center pin head diameter? I've had many many 1 ton single and dual wheel suspensions apart, and I've never seen a spring stack with a 7/16 center pin; at least not on the 73-87(91) style.

7/16 is a ford size.
Yes it is... and apparently GM used it at least once :doah: The head of my spring pins are a touch over 5/8" and the center pin hole in the D70HD is 11/16". Superlift has a lift block that fits this application so its best I get the right parts and do it right than to hack in something that doesn't quite fit right.

I have a set of 4" Rancho blocks that were used on a M1008 and a blazer with a 14ff and the hole and pin on them are 9/16".

I've got some 4inchers from under the blazer when I bought it. I have no idea who's they are but they seem to be in good shape--a little surface rust. They were bolted to a 12bolt. just let me know if you want them.

Let me double check my parts with a set of calipers. I took my first measurements with a tape measure and could have been off by a 1/16...

They probably won't work, I already have a set off of a blazer with the 1/2" pin.

Nope, they are only 1/2" longer than the original. But I'm looking for a 4" block anyway.
