Hey don't kill me for mentioning the four letter "F" word,

but I was driving home last Friday and pulled up next to this late 80's br*nco. As I'm pulling up I'm looking at how much lift it had and then it dawns on me that this rig looks a little different than other br*nco's.

It had 4 doors!? I didn't think f_rd made a burb'like counterpart? This thing was seemless too and sure looked like the top still came off.

Weird...

yup, there is a 4 door bunco. doesnt have a different name like the suburban does, just a longer bunco. not sure about the removable top though, havent had a good look at any of them to really see. saw one at the essex junction 4 wheel drive jamboree last year, for a ford it was alright, came in like 2nd or 3rd in the burnout contest, with boggers.

My Bro has one of those. It is called a Centurion. They are a conversion not built by Ford as far as we know. I call his USS F-150 because it resembles an air craft carrier. I ask him where his anchor is and where the boat dock bumpers are. I call him Captain Stuebing and 'Ahoy Mate.

Those F*#d people are just trying to copy the Killer Suburban.

Centurion?! Ahh, that explains it. Seems they had the same fate as the show that they got the name from! (Battlestar Gallatica)

Just really can't believe I've never seen one before though. Sure did look like that roof came off too.

Thanks gentlemen...I guess I'm not really insane...

Centurian is one of the conversion companies in northern Indiana. They do stuff like van conversions, and they also make those Ford Suburbans.

The roof does come off. Also, Ford has made a factory 4 door Suburban like vehicle for years, they just don't import it to the states. I've seen quite a few of them in Mexico.

yeah...ford centurian...and the topper does come off. There is a really nice one around here...dually rear, pretty cool. Also i saw a stretched centurian f350....6 doors!...had about 33's under it, push bar, and lights...actually i'm looking @ the picture of it right now....i saw it at O'hare airport and had to take a picture of it...i know it's a ford....but you gotta love somethin' that big!!...ooh that reminds me...anybody see that commercial w/the super stretch hummer?, i've got a buddy who said he saw one of those in person down @ bike week.

I've seen a stretch Hummer in Atlanta before. It was a white with all black accesories. Must have held 12 people from the looks of it. If they had 'em 10 years ago I would have rented one for my wedding!

I'd imagine the frame is pretty built up with I beams and the like...

IMHO I think GM is really screwed up in the vehicle naming dept. I am still a little ticked about the S-10 taking the name Blazer......

agreed GM is really screwing with some of their oldest vehicles...'burban & blazer...i was pretty p!ssed about the whole s-10 thing as well...then GMC goes and picks a retarded name like YUKON XL for the original big beast of 'em all...i thought i was ashamed of GM when they came out with the YUKON Denali ( yet another retarded name...not to mention it looks like a new style 'burban that had the crap knocked out of it w/the ugly stick!)...oooh sorry about that, think i got a little carried away

Suburban is a Chevy. They just made a GMC version to satisfy those dealers. Let 'em call it whatever they want.

Just to finalise:

http://www.centurionvehicles.com/

They're still around, though they don't do the 4-foor Bronco conversion any more. Too bad they didn't do that with Blazers, I could use a four-door fullsize. Ah well, hafta make my own ;-)
