hey all... i just picked up my 4" lift from National Tire & Wheel - it's a superlift system, aith Pro-Comp rear springs... problem is, i didn't get the one with steering correction... who's running what, and what are your opinions for it...? what is a 'steering arm', does it bolt between the pitman arm and the draglink...?

plus, i got a set of 315/75-16 BFG MT's off my local Craigslist for $50 - dude's wife sold them to me...! WOOO!

and, i painted my truck... haven't been on in a while, been busy on the truck... Thanks all... - Ryan

the best option is to get the steering arm, its the arm that is curved and bolts to the knuckle of the axle with 3 studs. just got the typical raised one (4"-6")and ur draglink should be perfect. and to get it off...take the nuts off and BEAT THE SH!T OUT OF IT! theres a lot of threads on this site if u need to look up how and techniques to do it.

this is the 'steering arm' that keeps coming up when i search... this is alright to replace on a K30...? most sites say Blazer/Jimmy and 10 series...

as i see it, the 2 in-line bolts on the top should mount on the kingpin studs...?

That is not the correct arm for a K30, the arm pictured is for a 1/2 or 3/4 ton axle. You will need either a steering block or a dropped drag link to fix the steering on a D60.

oooo 1 ton! lucky! sorry about that, u have to get a lift block to go under ur stock steering arm on ur dana 60. it comes with the block and a spacer to go inside the block for the kingpin spring and also longer studs to put in to make them long enough. try searching dana 60 steering block.

ok, no problem...

i thought i read somehwere that steering blocks were bad...?

still looking... thanks...!

ya, they put stress on the studs, for a light offroad truck they would work fine, but if u plan on doing some decent offroad then i would go with the drop pitman arm. its the arm attached to the steering box. with a drop pitman arm u wont have to worry about strength.

thinking maybe a high steer arm, and i can build to crossover steering slowly...

from off-road unlimited...

or, from ORD, i can get a pitman arm... they don't specify a length for lift, but they have it = Pitman arm: This is the arm attached to the steering box shaft. This is available from ORD as part of our kit or separately if you like.
Part #: 70203
Price: $70.00

i run a drop pitman arm for the 4" on my 1ton works good for daily driver light trail use.
