I've found someone who's parting out a 78 swb 1/2 ton chevy. It has a 4'' pro comp lift on it with front springs and rear blocks. Also has 2-4'' drop down for steering (?). Heard of that, but haven't lifted a truck before. Figure I'll find out soon enough. My question is, has anyone swapped lifts from an older chevy before and had any problems? Figure I might have to buy some longer brake lines, but anything else you think I'll have a problem with? Any input is helpful. Whether you've done it and it went smooth or a pain in the ass. Just let me know. Thanks yall.

Guess I should have said I'm putting it on my stock 86 Blazer.

i put used springs on mine. your going to need ubolts also. i would do a shackle flip in the back and ditch the blocks though. how much is he wanting for the lift

He's asking $150 for all the parts or cheaper if I don't want everything. He says he has the ubolts, shocks, springs, & some sort of drop steering arm. Is there really that much of a notable difference between blocks & a flipped shackle? I really like what Kurt at diy4x does but that's another $150 for the rear. Figure I'll go with the blocks & if I hate em or they ride like sh*t then I'll upgrade in the future.

I am wondering if anyone ran into any major roadblocks. Like springs from a 78 won't fit an 86. Good news is welcomed too :D

I say go for it and ditch the blocks if you are going to be doing any wheeling with it. get a shackle flip for the rear and you will love it. You are going to need new ubolts for sure. Everything else will just bolt right

everything should fit right up. forget the ubolts, i would just buy the springs and the steering arm from him. i would offer him 75 for the two. i got my spring for $50

I still need the blocks. I've heard the stock shackles dont like to come off without a fight/grinder. Can I pick up ubolts from a local hardware shop or shucks/napa?
