4" Lift

Re: 4\" Lift

Thanks for all the help guys but one more question. Where can I get a TC lift kit. Should I call them and where online can I get them other than ORD.

Re: 4\" Lift

the spacers are ok but for better strength... get some 1/2 inch thick steel, 32 inches of it I believe... cut it into 8 inch sections about 2 inches wide? use it to space your t-case down.... the spacers only allow for about 1/4 an inch to be supported... the thick stacked steer, creating 1 inch total, provides a complete mating surface... the only fun part is drilling the 1/2 inch holes in the correct place.. I had 1/2 inch holes punched in the steel at the iron place I buy from...

I ow dont have to worry about the spacers pushing through the frame, which can happen!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Re: 4\" Lift

Still think you'd be better off going with the ORD shackel flip in the rear, and BDS springs up front. I'm no expert, but everyone I've talked to says that the BDS gives the best ride. I personally have Superlift springs in the front of my K5. The price was right, but I would have prefered BDS.

Re: 4\" Lift

i just put my lift on my 84 k5 , and i am very happy.
i used the ruff country with blocks in the back. but
i will change that the the shackle flip at a later date.
i havent had a problem with the driveshafts and vibrations.
but i am going to lower the t-case before i do any flexing
off road. i also have to add the extended brakelines before
i do ant flexing. i have been driving this to work all week
( 45 miles each way ). and enjoy the tight ride. i also have put 35" tires on it with 10" rims. i left the sway
bar hooked up also. anyways as far as i am concerned with the lift , its /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Re: 4\" Lift

Yall think 33's on a 4" would look goofy? Let me see some good pics of that combo since I just put on some 33 BFG Muds. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Re: 4\" Lift

Nothing goofy about 4" and 33's I think it looks pretty good myself.
