It looks like the time has come to link the front end of my truck. I have done research and have a decent understanding on paper. I haven't played with numbers yet in a calculator.

What is the difference between a triangulated or parallel 4 link? I'm leaning towards a parallel 4 link because of clearance issues.

What do the experts think? Once I get behind a keyboard I can elaborate note.

Just finish the project you already started is my vote.

I was thinking of a mini truss. Sorry I forgot to add this is for the front.

I want more then the leafs can give and a different quality of outcome.

I never should have driven the Jimmy to your house. I created a monster who will never finish his truck.

3 link the front. I did radius arms first. Was OK. Went parallel 4 link. Had to go full Hydro to remove the bump steer.

Now 3 linked. Very happy with it.

Wade, yes you should have. I did fall in love with your setup.

What did you try these all on? I figured radius arms would be OK with what I want to do. I don't want to do serious crawling just want the travel and simplicity?

How did you get bump steer? I properly built pan hard would take care of that no?

You could just save up your pennies and order ords:whistle:

How did you get bump steer?

Had to go dual cross over. It was bump and push steer as the arms were not parallel or long enough. Just felt weird. Front end moved side to side 6 inches. Try landing that at 50 MPH. It worked, just not well.:doah:

This is how it sits today. 6 years of wheeling. :woot:

Picture whoring ahead.

Could you get some better pics of the panhard and the tie in points of it?

That makes two of us Adam.

I'm curious if I would need to build a drop member to hold the links. I'm pretty sure Wade had to on the jimmy.

I attached all 3 front links to it. Looks like I found it on a John Deere tractor. I have beat the crap out of it. Never really has limited where I go. But it does hang down a ways.

Was this because of the placement of the links or did you do it for structural reasons?

Because I over build everything. And it was not being built for rock crawling. So clearance was not a priority. It is bolt in though. Would have to remove it to pull the trans.

Overbuilt isn't a bad thing.

Was bump steer the only reason you got rid of the radius arms? curious if it's something thst xould ve fixed now?

how about a radius arm set up
ive been thing about doing that to the front of my 87 K5 just not sure about how to do a pan hard bar

How limited is the flex? I don't need a ton, but want travel. I know they go hand and hand together. I was think 14 inch travel should be in plenty, how much do you have in the jimmy?
