unless your doing a show truck resto it should work.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try.

I've never seen a Suburban with a 4spd. Very cool.

I miss overdrive in the burb I am wondering if it will effect mileage. When I go to pass a 50 mph it seems like I am pushing a brick. Also I want to shift one more gear when going up. Whole new learning curve for me been twenty years plus since a stick. The stopping and starting is no problem.

My fuel economy really didn't suffer that badly when I went from a TH700R4 to an SM465. Now my 1989 V10 Suburban with a TH400 in place of the TH700R4, that is a different story.

As for the original post, the later models do have a different shifter boot. I think they look better, and they seem to hold up much better as well.
