I was looking at chuckschevytruckpages.com and it showed RPO code MM7 as a 4 speed manual with overdrive in k10's and k20's. I thought all the 4 speeds were granny low transmissions. Can anyone tell me any more about these trannies? What exactly did they come in? I ask cuz Im looking at a 82 Chevy 6.2 diesel 4x4 with 4 speed manual. Its about a 3 hour drive away so I cant just take it for a spin to see what transmision it has.

Thanks

That's the old A-833 4 speed also found in older Mopars. Marginal for strength in comparison to the SM 465. If the diesel pick-up you're going to look at is a 3/4 ton or one ton it will have the SM 465.

It could be either tranny in the truck you are looking at. Its not a chrysler tranny, The 833 was made by New Process. I've seen them listed under the RPO code MY6 for GM

This is a NP A-833 from a 84 something Chevy diesel
