40 gal. sub tank into blazer???

I have no idea, however my 86 that I used to own had a 40 gal tank. So I know its possible.

I could have sworn we just had this thread...

Are you saying that you had a 40 gallon Sub tank in a K5? I had one with my truck once and measured everything a few times. The only options are to move the bumper backwards or let the tank get hit by the rear axle. That 40 gallon tank is loooong.

I know you aren't asking for suggestions but I'm just curious as to why you'd want to do this?

My blazer already has a 31gal tank in it I believe, seems like a lot of work to drive my blazer an extra 45-135 miles between fill ups, depending on mileage.

But if you're just trying to save a buck because your blazer tank is damaged and you have a sub one laying around I guess it's a valid consideration.:D

im doing this swap since i just put in my 550hp 454 bbc lol i need more gas!!!! :P well then if the sub tank is too long that answers my question now if i were to remove the rear bumper would it work then??? im saying i just swapped from propane back to gas for this new big block and i know the 31 gallon blazer tank but i might just fab my own tank to get a 40 gal or 43 gal tank

Rather then a sub tank you could go with a huge custom tank made by an outfit in the NW. Don't remember the name but it was in a prior thread with me on it.

ya i saw it but i dont want it to hang 10" below my frame rails thats the only downfall i do have a 3" body lift in my truck which makes it a little easier to move the tank higher so

I have no idea where the tank was from, when I bought the truck the guy made sure I knew it had a larger 41 gallon tank. And when I would fill it up, sure as sh*t, it would take 40 gallons.
