40" LTB's and Rockathons***INSTALLED***

Man! has it been that long already? :eek1:

Tires are great!! Most of our wheeling is wet up here. Dirt, Mud, Tree roots, granite, snow.

They do really well in everything I have wheeled. Sometimes on real smooth rock they slip because the lugs are really big. I imagine some grooving would fix this.

They do great in the snow down around 3psi definitely better than the other swampers. This may be because of their width though too. I imagine they would do well in sand for the same reasons.

I run them normally 4-5 psi up front and 3-4 in the rear and that seems to work well for what I do.

They do dig! In snow this can get you in trouble, but in the mud all you have to do is get them spinning. They clean out great and move a lot of real estate!

They are cut and scraped, but no real chunking that I have seen. Some pretty good cuts on the sidewalls, but no leaks anywhere. I do need to rotate them and get the sharp edges forward again. No idea on mileage as I drove them on the road for maybe a couple hundred miles. Same issues as any bias ply...flat spots, out of balance.

The wheels have taken a beating! I will be replacing all 4 of the beadlock rings when I get off deployment. I catch them on stumps and rocks and have peeled them out a few times. After you pound them back they crack after a while, but other than what I would consider normal wear for a beadlock ring no issues with the wheels. They all still hold air like they are new.

There are tons of pics from the last several years of them working in my build thread :waytogo:

So would you buy the 40" LTB again (for mud/snow)?
I'll be needing a replacement for my 39.5" TSL's soon, and the 40" LTB's seem to be the best priced 40" tire out there (mud and snow for me, no rocks).

I sure would! They do great in both mud and snow :waytogo:
