Still trying to decide on tires. Really like the LTB's but being that it'll get much more street than trail time I'm thinking the nittos/toyos/trepadors would a more practical fit for me. My concern is that these tires are all 13.5w tires which sound a lil skinny to me.

So before I spend a a lot of coin I'd like to be certain of my choice the first time. So plz if anyone has pics and comments on these 40" tires plz post them up. Thanks.

13.5 is pretty good. Wider tires are ok but as far as radials go, thats probably the only option. Ive never gotten stuck yet on 40x13.5x17s.

I think for mud and snow the wider tires have a benefit but we have a lot of grip out here. How come no pro comps?

I have free replacement on the pro comps I bought from 4 wheel parts in oakland if theyre ever blown.

I have the trail grapplers in 40x13.50x17 radial and I like them. Very good street manners. Buddy has the sticky version and his work very well, take less time to heat up on rocks

Toyos wear really well on the street..but they are super heavy.

I've got a set of 35/12,50R17 Toyo M/T's on my half ton Dodge, and they are wearing like iron, and have had great traction in whatever I put them in so far.

Besides, even if they get worn really low, you still have super aggressive sidewalls.

And yes, they're quite heavy.

Toyos are a great all around tire , but the Treps are better offroad from what I have seen

As for being to skinny, the 13.50 Toyos put a lot more tire on the ground then a radial swamper

I have been using the toyo 40 (mostly snow) with no complaints.

Are they really that much heavier than other 40s?

Theyre all within a couple pounds of eachother. I believe mtr and pro comp are the lightest but its not like were trying to get a 4 banger to move them.

My 40 MTR's do fine dont drive them on the street much at all. Got them for a good deal thats why I have them but no complaints about them.
