Is a this combo a better set up to get out of an 81'?? I have 350/203 now in my 79'
if it is a 400/205, yes, its all around better than a 350/203
strength of the TH400, strength of the 205, and part time 4x4.
I am just searching now as well 203/205 doubler?? What do you think??
depends on your application really. if its a hardcore trail truck, go for it. if its a street driver, with occasional trail use, i'd pass. too many other mods you can make for that kind of money that will be more beneficial all around. and for a mud truck, no way, its too heavy.
I know of a certain built th400 with a 205 adapter for sale... *hint hint MTMike*
Probably won't be ready to go til spring anyways. (I've gotta find a SM465-203 adapter, a 10-spline 203 input shaft (or 32spl 465output & 32spl 203 input) and buy a doubler adapter first.)
As to the original poster - it's a stout-ass setup, but not much for crawling.
