400 sbc head casting number

trying to see if these are good heads to rebuild or just buy new ones.

458642 off of a 1979 400.

all the sites I have found just say 350-400 head 76 and newer and they had all 3 valev sizes. So I guess I have to pull em off to see the valve size.

I have some 882 castings with 1.94 intakes that came off a sbc 400 (they have the steam holes) . They had been rebuilt but have about 40k on them so they should be gone thru . There your for free . you just gotta come get them .
