40's with crossover?

How awful is it to steer 40's with just crossover and no assist or full hydro?
I ended up doing the 1 ton swap sooner than expected because I bent and cracked the 12 bolt center section.
I have ORI's that will end up going in with full hydro after I get links and a full hydro set up but it will on 40's with the leaf springs for a while.

I ran 40" boggers with crossover, no assist or anything, steered just fine....

On the road it's doable. Best to be moving really. 18 wide boggers were much harder than the 13.50 wides.

It gets driven on the street some in Mexico and to trails in town and trailered to others. The tires are 40x12.5x17.

Front locker? That’s when you’ll find yourself needing hydro assist, especially with a non selectable locker.

It has an Ox selectable locker in the front.

Since you plan to do both, then assist with a well matched system would be the only way I'd consider putting it on the trail.
