I'm liking the look of the Iroks but think 44's would give me an edge off road. The only 44's available for my 16 inch rims I can see are Super Swamper Boggers. Since the Blazer will have to drive to & from trails (not a daily driver though), should I go with the 42 ich Iroks or go for the 44" Boggers? Have any Bogger owners had any major issues offroad with lateral stability (sliding sideways)??

If I do go with the boggers, I'm looking at using Staun beadlocks. Anyone see any issues with mounting a 19.5 inch wide bogger on a 10" wide rim if using the double beadlocks??

Thanks

i would recommend min 15x12 wheels with 44's since they are so wide with 15x10 wheels even with double beadlocks the wheel wont flop down as nice when aired down for traction... and may still blow beads... 15x12 even better allied 32 bolt beadlocks 15x14's are what i recommend ihave a set on my truck with 46" claws they work AMAZING havent blown a bead yet and i run my tires at 1/8th of a lb of air

I've heard boggers suck in the snow (unless you're in deep powdery stuff) if that's any consideration.

I've been really happy with the TSL tread, and I'm sure the Iroks will perform better in snowy conditions than the boggers

What kind of wheelin' are you going to be doing?

Thanks for the replys so far. In regard to rim width, I know Interco lists 12" wide wheels as minimum width but I've seen people use hummer rims which are 8.75" or something like that, aren't they? If they work, I'm thinking I should be OK with 10" rims with the double beadlocks?

As for use, it'll include some mud and snow, but mostly trails and rock so that's why I'm wishing there was a 44" version of the Irok available but since there's not, I'm stuck between 42" Iroks or the Boggers.:doah:

You won't believe the traction you'll have, with the boggers.Until you get in the deep snow. Can you say 4 deep holes?? My boggers at 5 psi, look like they have 20 psi in them. They don't float very well in the deep snow.Wanna see ?

On the trails and in the mud, they're fantastic. Look to break parts...:doah:
By the way, I wouldn't trade them for anything else.

i was in some what same boat and terain and everyone talked me int the irok i had them before 39.5 and now have a 42 just got them not all mounted up yet. i was very happy with the old ones i was also looking at the regular super swamper tsl not bogger it comes in a 43 also and a little narrower which would be better for the 10 rim. the 44 is 19 wide huge width.
i was stuck between the tsl and irok my .02

Thanks for the info. I guess the real question is are 42's big enough for a fullsized Blazer offroad or should I be going to 44's? It almost seems rediculous to be asking but with tire sizes getting bigger all the time, the 37's I have that were once big are now looking pretty small! :(:(

personally 44 look awsome but you got to cut alot or run alot of lift and they make the truck look a little unproportioned i think. .02
42 seem to to fiit better and size up to the truck better not as much cuting and so forth look around there are a couple of guys with 42 mounted now and 44 recent, just got my to 42 iroks mounted today going to throw the 2 on and post pics.
also the 44 are alot wider and heaver so more chanches of breaking parts check the weights on interco website, i think my 42 weigh 95 a piece without rime and rims are about 25 so 120 a tire for a 42 set up.im talking tsl regular not a bogger.

i checked the weight for ya
140lbs for a 44 bogger
95lbs for a 42 irok
102lbs 42 tsl
weight can break and rob alot i thought about it too and the little extra was not worth the potential in broken parts for a litle more glory.

Blazin & Monstrburbon, thanks again for the info.

So in your experience, other than pure mud bogging, there isn't many places on the trails that 44's can take a full-sized Blazer that 42's can't??

A small part of the problem is that I have built my own chassis and bought all new 6" BDS spring packs and when I assembled it all, I'm sitting at around 12" of lift. I'm sorta trying not to have to rework the frame's body & suspension mounts so with a D60 & 14FF, I'm looking at a big enough tire to match the 12" lift but not kill my axles (like 47"-54" Swampers probably would)!!

Thanks for the great feedback

Brian

i've had times when my 44's would be to wide for the trail, but i'm running a 2.5'' bs rim, and my buddys that have 42's have them on 10'' rim but they have like 4'' bs, so narrower tire and more bs, makes their truck more manuverable, but not as good in the slop as mine, but its b/c of my wheel track and the wider tir3e has more flotation
