I would like to run 44 Boggers and keep a decent COG. I know i can run a 10-12" susp but i would like to do a lifted 52" in front and shacle flip in rear. Does anyone have any idea of what it would take ? It already has a 3" body lift and i dont mind doing (some) Trimming. Truck wil see mostly mud and some hills.
Thanks:doah:

How much trimming? That is the big question

I ran 44s with about 3" of lift. There are alot of issues that I ran into. I think an 8" lift with trimming would work and not be stupid high

*Some* trimming is the big factor here. What does that mean to you?

Why 52's in the front? (not saying you shouldn't, I'd like to know why you wan to go that direction)

Do you know how much lift you want? There are BIG variances in lift height vs. tire size, out West in the rocks it's typical to see 40"+ tires with a 4-6" lift, out East it's 1-2 feet of lift.

Different suspensions for different terrain and for people's own opinion of what they want.

52's in the front will give you ~4-5" of lift on top of what they are rated for, so if that's the route you are going you'd want 6-8" lift 52's. However, the 52's up front will be much softer than a 10-12" front spring and at that height you may run into some stability issues.

I dont have alot of rocks here. Mostly mud, trails, and some technical hills. I dont want to cut half my fender off. But I'd rather cut than do 12" lift. I say 52" in front becuse I would like some articulation, ( not just a stiff high lift spring). If i can get decent flex iI would not be against a lift spring.

I think it was muddybuddy on here that did some 52" lift springs I know some have done it and liked it

just throw a 6" suspension system on and you'll clear 44's with 9" total lift and minor trimming

cheap, easy, prolly no ds mods,

yep i've got 4" lifted 52's up front with kerts b52 kit. love the way it rides down the road, and has good articulation as well

Im running 42s with 10" lift. 8" suspension and 2" body lift. I trimmed my front fenders a few inches and the tires still rub in the front and back. I need to get some 6" springs up front and an EZ Inch up front and shackle flip out back and trim more all around.

everybody gunna have a different story, but realistically 8" of lift lift is all you really need to run 44's correctly, and i use correctly loosly, so your 10 net lift with 42's rubbing is something i wouldnt consider goin more height unless ya wanna be a active wheeler in big gay truck land,

cut away:zombie15:

I guess im a big ghey truck guy. Im going to lower a few inches and cut big time, So I wont be in that big ghey truck classification! I dont want to be "That Guy"

nothin wrong with a bunch of lift. just dont get stuck sideways. i have net of 9 and i was thinkin i could run 42's no problem. so i gotsta take a closer look at my clearances..:dunno:

The sheetmetal just gets in the way :haha: Aftermarket lift springs dont flex very well and tweak out pretty quick when you do flex alot.

So if you get a 2" lift spring 52 then you should be getting a 6-8" lift?

Sorry dumb question I know.

You'll end up with right at 6" lift. I used 2.5" 52's and ended up with 6" (I think the weight of a winch and big block cause mine to sag just a little).

how did you lift the rear? I think this is the way i wont to go. Thanks for all your help.

shackle flip, zero-rates, and a combo of leafs from 2 packs of stock 64" chevy springs. stance is about 7-8" lift. heres a pic with 42's for reference:
